That's what SDR hear a lot when they try to talk to new customers.
Being an SDR is hard work. You have to call lots of people and most of them say "No thanks!" It can make you feel sad or frustrated. But great sales leaders know how to keep their SDRs feeling happy and excited about their jobs.
Here are 8 fun ways to keep your SDRs motivated:
Ask what makes them happy - Is it making lots of money? Achieving tough goals? Learning new things? More time offs?Different SDR like different rewards.
Be a teacher - Don't just boss them around. Teach them new skills and show them how to grow in their career. They'll work harder for you. If you can’t find them someone who will.
Celebrate wins! When they do something awesome, throw a party or give them a prize. A little praise goes a long way.
Remind them why it matters - Their hard work helps the whole company succeed and makes customers happy. Think beyond a shout out on slack.
Have silly fun days - Like wearing wacky hats to work or having pizza parties. You've got to shake things up! Be creative. Idea is to have no agenda meetings or something fun if you are online.
Give money for learning - Give each person cash to spend on classes or training to get even better at their job. You can also use this as a negotiation lever while negotiating salaries.
Let them do what they're best at - If someone loves making phone calls, let them make more calls. If another person rocks at emails, give them more email tasks. As long as they are getting results, let them win. There’s a downside to this and we’d cover in another newsletter.
Listen to their ideas - SDRs learn a ton talking to customers. Let them share what's working and what's not. Their ideas can make everything better.

The youngest salespeople may need some extra motivation. Switch up their duties so they aren't bored. Show them how their work really helps people. And let them teach tricks to the experienced team members!
